Mass Effect: Andromeda Early Access Trial Begins Today For EA/Origin Access Subscribers

There's less than a week to go until Mass Effect: Andromeda is finally unleashed upon the masses in North America - Europe has to wait until March 23 - but if you're a subscriber to EA/Origin Access, your adventures in a mysterious galaxy can start to unfold today. Both Xbox One and PC owners have access to the service, which affords members the opportunity to trial near enough any EA-published title before it's officially released, and Andromeda is no different. As of now, the service isn't available on PlayStation 4, but we'll hopefully see that change in the future.

Back to the matter at hand, the trial offers access to both Andromeda‘s single and multiplayer components, with a total playtime of 10 hours allowed until your time is up. If you’re planning to take full advantage of the promotion, do note that progress through the campaign is limited to a certain point, so there’s no use in trying to rush to the end as fast as possible. Take your time and enjoy it. There’s no such restriction in place for multiplayer, however, so if you do hit the roadblocks put in place by BioWare, you can spend any remaining time left in the trial there. It’s definitely worth checking out, too.

While Andromeda‘s main selling point is undoubtedly its solo adventure, it appears as if BioWare is giving multiplayer its fair share of attention. Following in the same footsteps as Mass Effect 3‘s multiplayer component, Andromeda‘s pits a group of players against waves of enemies, with various objectives to complete. Multiple upgrades and cosmetic options will be available from launch day, with more due to arrive post-launch. BioWare released a video earlier this week that provides a full breakdown of the above, which you can watch here.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is out March 21 in North America for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
