Microsoft Announces Games With Gold For July

Microsoft has announced the titles that will be available for July's Games with Gold promotion today and unfortunately, we're a bit underwhelmed. Starting on July 2nd, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will be free to download on the Xbox One, while the Xbox 360 will see Gotham City Impostors free from July 1st to July 15th and then BattleBlock Theatre free from July 16th to July 31st.

Microsoft has announced the titles that will be available for July’s Games with Gold promotion today and unfortunately, we’re a bit underwhelmed. Starting on July 2nd, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will be free to download on the Xbox One, while the Xbox 360 will see Gotham City Impostors free from July 1st to July 15th, and then BattleBlock Theatre free from July 16th to July 31st.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I had a lot of fun with both Guacamelee and Gotham City Impostors when they originally launched (I haven’t played BattleBlock Theatre), but it would be nice to see Microsoft offer up full retail games more often. I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but when you compare the Games with Gold offerings with what Sony is doing with their PS Plus service, it’s laughable. Microsoft has always been behind their competitor in this area and it would be great if they could step it up, especially since the promotion now extends to the Xbox One.

Tell us, what do you think of July’s offerings? Will you be picking up any of these games? Sound off below!
