Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner spoke out about his excitement over bringing his studio’s episodic story to Nintendo’s console, saying:

Working with Nintendo, we’re tremendously excited to be bringing our unique style of storytelling to Wii U for the first time, and we couldn’t be happier to be kicking things off with a series like ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ that allows players of all ages to craft their own adventure across the Minecraft universe.

As you might suspect, the Wii U version of Minecraft: Story Mode will take full advantage of the console’s off-TV play, meaning you’ll be able to play just using the Wii U GamePad. There’s even some touch-control options included letting you opt between using the face buttons or touch screen to advance.

Telltale says future episodes on Wii U will be made available in the coming weeks, which means those who chose to play on Nintendo’s console will be lagging behind the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, which is due to get the final episode in early 2016.
