Nature Is Unleashed On August 2 With The Fey, Paragon’s Newest Hero

A new playable hero is headed to Paragon tomorrow, Epic Games has announced. Starting August 2, all early access players will have the chance to play as The Fey in the PlayStation 4 and PC-only MOBA, who looks remarkably reminiscent of a grown-up Tinker Bell from Peter Pan. Described as a caster who uses “nature’s power” as an offensive weapon, The Fey is all about crowd control and AoE damage, so says Epic Games creative director Steve Superville.

The TL;DR on The Fey is that she is a Support Caster (Energy Damage; Growth, Intellect) who uses nature’s power in Agora for crowd control and in-lane harassment. Her Untamed Growth ability throws out a explosive plant that does AOE damage over time. Her Bramble Patch creates a line of thorny brambles that can slow multiple Heroes. Harvest Nettles refunds mana on successful hit while her Ultimate, Fly Trap, summons a gargantuan plant that drags you in and applies serious damage.

Paragon fans will no doubt be ecstatic that another caster-type hero has joined the existing roster of characters, which had previously only really had one in the form of Gideon, giving more options to those that prefer to do combat from afar with flashy abilities. Of course, if you prefer more intimate combat, there’s already plenty of options available. Previous newcomer Greystone is exactly that.

Paragon launches on PlayStation 4 and PC later this year, with an open beta planned for August 16.
