Having been available for PC players through Steam for some time, Ripstone Games’ steampunk inspired, mech battler Ironcast is almost ready for its console debut. Now, with the release date confirmed, a new console trailer has been unveiled to act as a call to arms for all future mech commanders.

Ironcast‘s narrative is set in an alternative Victorian history, where refined men and women commanded gigantic mechanized war machines, laying waste to enemies of the British Empire. As Commanders of the Consortium of Merit, players take control of their own 7 metre tall walking Ironcast.

The battles in Ironcast are fought through the strategic use of nodes, as you’ll decide whether each turn requires and offensive or defensive move. You’ll have to choose wisely, however, as a wrong move could prove fatal if your enemy is able to capitalize on a mistake.

The steampunk-inspired visual style of the game certainly makes for an appealing setting, and the mechs in the trailer look right at home in Ripstone’s alternative version of Victorian England.

Ironcast will be available for PS4 players across the world on the 1st and 2nd of March, while Xbox One owners can get their hands on the game from March 4th.
