Clocking in as the 23rd development diary to date, the studio – one that has carved out a space between AAA and indie development – continues to chronicle the game’s progress in production, with today’s episode circling back to focus on Hellblade‘s buttery smooth combat.

Chronicling the journey of Senua, a Celtic warrior haunted by a crippling mental illness, Hellblade is shaping up to be just as intriguing as it is beautiful, and in an official post via PlayStation Blog, NT touched base on how development is coming along.

Hellblade development continues at full speed here at Ninja Theory. As our combat group continues to develop Senua’s combat, the rest of the team are turning their attention to different areas of the game.

We’re regularly shooting scenes for the game in our in-house homemade performance capture studio and we are excited to be continuing our work with a great group of actors that are performing the various voices that Senua hears throughout our journey.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is slated for a simultaneous release across PS4 and PC. Exactly when Ninja Theory plans to debut its mythic new IP, however, is still up for question.
