Whether it’s an effort to get more 3DS consoles into the hands of those that lack them or simply a gesture of goodwill, Nintendo has announced two New 3DS bundles will go on sale in North America on November 25 to coincide with the nation’s biggest shopping day of the year.

Come Black Friday, black and white Mushroom Kingdom print New 3DS consoles will be available at the recommended price of $99.99, meaning that, if you’re lucky, you might even be able to find them cheaper than that if retailers start indulging in pricing wars.

If you’re intending to capitalize on the bargain, don’t wait too long – Nintendo of America’s Twitter page suggests stock will be limited in number.

For a little perspective, brand new 2DS consoles – which lack the 3D feature, sleek design and superior power of its more expensive sibling – currently retail at around $80, so forking over an extra $20 for a superior device seems like a no-brainer. Do note, however, that the promotion is strictly for the standard 3DS and not the XL, which sports larger screens.

Nintendo‘s made no mention of whether the limited-time price cut will be available in any other territories other than North America, but we’ll keep you posted if anything changes.

Either way, the timing couldn’t be better, what with the highly anticipated Pokemon Sun and Moon just over a week away from release.
