Nintendo Switch Live Presentation Date Locked In For January 13, 2017

Nintendo has locked in the exact date and time that it plans to reveal additional details for the Nintendo Switch next year. The presentation, which will be broadcast live directly from Tokyo, will begin at 8pm PST/11pm EST or, if you're in the UK, 4am, so you'll want to get an early start (or just pull an all-nighter) if you just can't wait to hear more about the new device. Considering its relatively close proximity to the console's slated March release date, it's safe to assume that a specific launch window will be revealed during the show, as well as concrete details concerning the Switch's launch line-up.

“It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for! Find out more about Nintendo Switch by watching the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, live from Tokyo. Visit www.nintendo.com/switch on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET to hear about new Nintendo Switch details you won’t want to miss!” says Nintendo in a press release sent to We Got This Covered. Despite none of it being official until the Big N says so, we may already know some of the big announcements the company plans to make as part of the event next month.

A slew of rumors have surfaced since the hybrid console’s unveiling, including reports that it will allow the playing of GameCube games through the Virtual Console feature. It also appears that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – no doubt primed to be a system seller – will miss out on launch title status, having supposedly been pushed back to a June release date due to localization issues. The latter, if true, will be disappointing for many fans who were intending to pick up the Nintendo Switch on day one to play Link’s next great adventure, so we can only hope it turns out to be inaccurate.

Either way, we’ll know for sure in exactly one month’s time. Rest assured, we’ll be covering all of the new info as and when it comes, so stay tuned!
