Nintendo’s 8-Bit Summer Will Serve Up Two 3DS eShop Games A Week

The 3DS eShop has really lived up to the lofty expectations I’ve had since it was first announced. Nintendo has done a fantastic job of giving gamers what they want at an affordable price. That being said, Nintendo’s summer promotion may have raised the bar. I’m not sure who to thank for this, but Nintendo announced that this is officially the 8-Bit Summer. There will be two games released every week through July, and it’s certainly an impressive lineup.

The 3DS eShop has really lived up to the lofty expectations I’ve had since it was first announced. Nintendo has done a fantastic job of giving gamers what they want at an affordable price. That being said, Nintendo’s upcoming summer promotion far surpasses anything I could have hoped for. I’m not sure who to thank for this, but Nintendo announced that this is officially the 8-Bit Summer and will be releasing two games every week through July.

July 5thThe Legend of Zelda (Nes) – 3DS Ambassadors will be able to upgrade to the new version from the free edition they received last year. The new version will add a Restore Point feature.

July 12thKirby’s Pinball Land (Game Boy) and The Sword of Hope II (Game Boy)

July 19thKid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters (Game Boy) and Tumblepop (Game Boy)

July 26thWario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy)

Sonic Blast (Game Gear) and Sonic Labryinth (Game Gear)were also announced but haven’t received an official date yet. If you can’t wait until July, Super Mario Land is also available right now for $2.99 through the rest of June.  This has to one of the eShop’s strongest months on record.  Which title are you most excited for?
