Also included in this version of the game is a full Training section and the popular myClub feature. The free-to-play game also allows users to experience PES 2016’s online and offline play, and grants unlimited access to the myClub mode where players use accrued, in-game currency and micro-transactions to build a title-winning team.

The free-to-play edition is also set to be compatible with all future gameplay and content updates throughout the PES 2016 season, updating automatically to ensure team line-ups are up to date and that PES 2016’s world footballing stars stay true to the form of their real-life counterparts. You’d better hope all of those Ballon D’Or contenders you pick keep their form up in real life, then!

PES 2016 saw the series become the first to win ‘Best Sports Game’ at gamescom for two years running, so if you’re a PC gamer who’s yet to check it out for yourself, then there’s never been a better time to do so.
