New Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Comparison Screens Released

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, a 3DS re-release of the first three games in the Ace Attorney franchise, is still apparently on track for a North American release by the end of the year, though a precise month and date have not been announced yet. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, a 3DS re-release of the first three games in the Ace Attorney franchise, is still apparently on track for a North American release by the end of the year, though a precise month and date have not been announced yet. To get fans of the franchise more interested, Capcom has posted a series of screenshots that display the new version as well as the DS originals for a side-by-side comparison.

There are several notable changes here, one of which is the aspect ratio being changed to fit the 3DS’s letterboxed top screen, higher-resolution backgrounds, and redone character sprites, which have been changed from the pixelated originals to a more smooth and hand-drawn look. Finally, the in-game text has been redone to look both bigger and smoother than before, similar to the previous overhaul in last year’s Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies.

The 13 comparison screens can be viewed below for those who want to get a better look at the visual changes. We will continue to keep you updated on news regarding the Ace Attorney series as it drops, so stay tuned.
