Continuing the recent stream of new information for this year’s Pokemon Sun and Moon, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have revealed the latest new Pocket Monster you’re going to encounter in the new Alola region. Unlike the usual immunity to being poisoned that Steel and other Poison types exhibit, Salandit’s Corrosion passive bypasses such resistances, giving it an edge against opponents that would usually have no trouble handling the toxicity. The blurb for the video reads:

Another new Pokémon has just been revealed for Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon! Meet Salandit, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon! Salandit emits toxic gas, together with flames, from the base of its tail. This poisonous gas has a sweet smell, and anyone who unknowingly breathes it in will become dizzy. Salandit is not a very powerful Pokémon, but its cunning nature allows it to battle fiercely by throwing its opponents off balance.

There’s no word yet on what Salandit’s evolved forms are – or if it even has any – but the former is likely to be true, considering Nintendo describes the petite lizard as “not very powerful.”

Pokemon Sun and Moon release for the Nintendo 3DS on November 18, but if you just can’t wait that long, there’s another new Pokemon title available to play right now. See the details here.
