Earlier this week, Nintendo finally unveiled its new Pokémon Switch games to the world – and not a moment too soon.

Entitled Sword and Shield, they’re set to arrive on the hybrid console by late 2019, when wide-eyed trainers will set off on a journey like no other. And like all great Pokémon adventures, your story will kick off with a choice, one which will define the journey ahead. Simply put, it’s which loveable starter creature will you choose as your companion?

If you’ve been keeping up, you’ll know that that choice will come down to three different Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble. Though Nintendo’s seemingly infinite Pokémon name generator may be starting to show its age by now (this is Gen 8, after all), at least based on visuals alone, Sword and Shield‘s starter Pokémon are all pretty darn cute. But they won’t be the only new critters in the game.

There will be a ton of never before seen Pokémon featured and now, thanks to a 4chan leak, we’ve got an idea of what the new legendary creatures may look like. Though the post has since been deleted, GameRant reports that one of them’s a metal snake while the other’s a wooden horse. Unfortunately, there’s no word on their names or abilities and all that, but the outlet speculates that the metal snake will be for Pokémon Sword and the horse will come with Pokémon Shield – which makes sense.

Of course, given that this intel hails from 4chan, we’d advise taking it with a grain of salt. That being said, it’s worth noting that the same post accurately predicted the titles of the games ahead of time and also a few other details, so there’s reason to believe it may be right about these legendary Pokémon, too.

In any case, we should learn more sooner rather than later, as after Detective Pikachu has come and gone, and Niantic’s Pokémon Go gets another update or two, all eyes will turn towards Pokémon Sword and Shield. It’s set to launch in late 2019 for the Nintendo Switch and pre-orders are now live.
