Pokémon Go Ultra Bonus Event Rewards Revealed

The third and final Pokémon Go Fest of 2019 came to a close last week. The event, held in Yokohama, Japan, boasted a series of exclusive activities and rewards for attendees, including the opportunity to catch rare mythical Pokémon Jirachi. It was all-inclusive as ever, but developer Niantic gave Trainers not able to attend the occasion more than enough reason to log in and play over the weekend, too.

A global event running in tandem with Yokohama’s festival tasked players with completing a special Stardust Research Challenge for Professor Willow, one which the collective player base smashed without difficulty. The rewards for your efforts? Why, massively boosted Stardust rates across the board, of course. From now until August 20th, all of the following are in effect:

  • 3x Catch Stardust
  • 3,000 Stardust per raid
  • 3x Hatch Stardust
  • 1-hour Star Pieces

Good enough on their own, no doubt, but that’s not all. Far from it, in fact. Legendary dog Suicune has popped in-game for a visit via Pokémon Go‘s raids until August 17th. During the period, five additional Raid Passes can be received at no additional cost. Oh, and that’s still not everything, by the way. So successful have players been in rising to meet the challenge, that three further weeks of goodies are due to be deployed throughout the month of September.

Niantic is still withholding some details in order to maintain an element of surprise, but here’s what we know so far.

Week 1 – September 2-9

Increased encounter rates for Pokémon found in the Johto Pokédex as well as new additions to hatched-egg drop tables.

Week 2 – September 9-16

An unannounced mythical Pokémon will make a “special appearance” in-game via raid battles.

Week 3 – September 16-23

Specifics here are slim, though Niantic does provide a clue. “You may be able to add some Pokémon to your Kanto Pokédex that previously eluded you in your part of the world,” reads the description, implying that regional exclusives like Mr. Mime and Kangaskhan will start appearing outside of their usual habitats.

That about covers all the concrete information provided so far, though the announcement on Pokémon Go Blog promises further revelations for August 20th. Stay tuned.
