Nintendo has officially confirmed that Princess Peach will be joining the cast of characters in the new Super Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS when it launches sometime next year.

Peach’s announcement today is not a complete surprise, as there was never a tremendous amount of fear that the Mushroom Kingdom’s favorite butt-bumping princess would not be included in the upcoming game. With that said, Super Smash Bros. is being developed with a less than full cast of characters, so it is always nice to get a confirmation that one of the series’ main brawlers is coming back for another round.

With Peach locked in, this brings Super Smash Bros.‘ total confirmed brawlers up to fifteen, with a roster that includes: Peach, Luigi, Pikmin & Olimar, Villager (Animal Crossing), Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox (Star Fox), Pikachu, Bowser, and Pit (Kid Icarus).

Today’s reveal didn’t come with a brand new trailer (unfortunately), but we do have eight Wii U and two 3DS screenshots of Peach taking care of business Super Smash Bros. style. Check them all out in the gallery down below, and let us know your thoughts on who else should be included in the upcoming title. Personally, I’m pulling for an oversized Chibi-Robo or normal-sized Tom Nook.
