Here’s How PS3/PS Vita Cross Play Will Work

Arguably one of the most impressive features of the upcoming PS Vita is the ability to interact with a PS3, both as a competitive multiplayer tool and as a means to take a game with you. The PlayStation Blog has released a new video showing off just how this feature works.

Using WipEout 2048 as an example, we can see how multiple people can play the same game but on different systems, among a few other features.

You know what would be really cool, Sony? Use the Vita in conjunction with single player games as a sort of augmented reality tool. What if we were playing something like Metal Gear Solid on PS3, and we had a Vita connected wirelessly for certain gadgets or to pick up codec calls?

I can’t be the only one with chills after thinking of something that awesome. It needs to be February 22 already.

What say you, gamers? Are you as impatient as I am?
