From what we understand, the semi-sequel is in development for PC and Mac at the time of writing, but don’t be too surprised if Otherworld one day finds its way onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and other platforms.

In tandem with the reveal, Re-Logic published the following blurb for the title.

“Set in an alternate dimension within the Terraria universe, Terraria: Otherworld places the player in a life-and-death struggle to restore a once-pristine world – now overrun by a malevolent force that has corrupted nature itself – to its original splendor. Along with a rag-tag band of survivors, will you be able to successfully harness the power of an array of weaponry, magic, defenses, and even the world itself to thwart the designs of this unseen evil?”

Dropping the bright and welcoming color palette of its predecessor, Terraria: Otherworld sports a much darker, sci-fi aesthetic. Still, going off of the reveal footage, it’s safe to assume that the upcoming release will retain all of the wonderfully addictive gameplay that helped transform the original game into a bona fide hit.
