Sony announced a limited edition PlayStation 3 God of War: Ascension Legacy Bundle today, which will allow you to get your hands on a snazzy red PS3 console along with more Kratos than you can shake a stick at.

The bundle is set to launch in North America on March 12th (alongside GOW: Ascension) for a very reasonable MSRP of $349. Anyone willing to fork over the scratch will find the following items inside the box when they return from their favorite retailer; one Garnet Red 500GB PlayStation 3 (naturally, the vertical stand in the picture is sold separately), a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial membership, a copy of God of War: Ascension, and a copy of God of War Saga.

That’s right, the same God of War Saga that contains all five previous title in the franchise; God of War, God of War II, God of War III, and God of War: Origins Collection (which consists of God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta).

Basically, the Garnet Red PlayStation 3 is for God of War super-uber-fans only. Unless of course you are planning to just dump the games on ebay, and keep the red PS3 and 30-day PlayStation Plus subscription for yourself… Which is actually not a bad idea.

Now, I know what you are thinking, “If I pick up this bundle, will I still get my God of War: Ascension pre-order bonus?”. Well fear not, Sony confirmed in the comments section on the PlayStation Blog that the bundle will have the “same pre-order bonus at GameStop as the standalone game”.

While it wasn’t specifically addressed in the post, we are assuming that this also means that anyone who picks up the PlayStation 3 God of War: Ascension Legacy Bundle will also get access to the early The Last of Us demo that was announced last week. We will keep an eye out for an official confirmation of that, and update this post once Sony issues a statement.
