The potential port has apparently been in the works for several months by a small team within From Software, with the report adding that if the re-release goes ahead, it will be as part of a trilogy including all games in the series (and their respective DLC) for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and, of course, the Switch.

From Software is just one of many third-party developers that will be supporting Nintendo’s successor to the Wii U, including Capcom, Bethesda and SEGA, to name just a few. We’re surely not the only ones excited by the prospect of playing the entirety of the Dark Souls series on a handheld device, and here’s to hoping that the Switch blows everyone’s socks off when it launches in March next year.

As for Souls, series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has stated previously that Dark Souls III will be the last to be created by From Software, but it’s not the end just yet. The first of two planned DLCs for the title – Ashes of Ariandel – launched last month, with the second due out in early 2017.
