One year removed from its original release, Sony has revealed that Resogun will be making the jump to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita later this month. Originally developed by Housemarque, development duties on the port are being handled by Climax Studios (Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Rocket Knight).

Fine tuned specifically for the PS3 and PS Vita, the port will retain all of the same features that made the original Resogun so addictive upon release. The biggest difference between the two versions, however, is that this version of the title will run at 30fps, as opposed to the 60fps that the PlayStation 4 original ran at. While not ideal, this decision had to be made in order to ensure that everything would run smoothly here.

Resogun will support full cross-save compatibility between the PS3 and PS Vita, which means that you can take the Voxel-blasting action on the road and not be worried about losing progress. The PS Vita port also makes full use of the system’s touch features, as well as featuring ad-hoc co-op.

Despite launching alongside high-profile titles such as Killzone: Shadow Fall and Battlefield 4, perhaps no title was as well received at the PS4 launch quite like Resogun. The fast-paced combat of the game, as well as the gorgeous graphics, were heavily praised upon release. You can read our original review of the title right here.

If you don’t already own Resogun, than you can pick up these ports on December 23 for only $14.99. The game will be cross buy, meaning that if you already own the PS4 version, you can download these two versions for no additional cost.
