An indirect sequel to Rainbow Moon, Rainbow Skies will continue to build on the foundation established in the previous game. The gameplay will once again feature a heavy emphasis on dungeon crawling, with battles being played out in a more traditional RPG style. New additions to the series include the ability to tame monsters and combine different attacks.

Taking place in a completely different world from its predecessor, Rainbow Skies centers around three young protagonists: Damion, Layne, and Ashly. Each of the three heroes can be upgraded throughout the story, which sees them getting caught between two warring superpowers. Pukropski has promised that the title will feature over 10 times the amount of content found in the previous entry of the series.

Despite the fact that I haven’t had the chance to play Rainbow Moon yet, I’m interested in Skies. Grind-heavy RPGs tend to scare me off, but if SideQuest Studios can provide enough content to justify it, I can’t be too upset. I’m a little disappointed to hear that the title will not be coming to the PlayStation 4, but hopefully the studio has something planned for the future.

Rainbow Skies is scheduled to launch in 2015 on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
