The Brazilian Classifications Board have given a rating for the currently unannounced BioShock: The Collection, re-igniting rumors over its existence. The original rumor surfaced last year when South African retailer Ruru stated that a BioShock Collection, presumably containing the original game, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite was due to release in November 2015.
Obviously, that leak turned out to be false, but it seems Ruru may have at least gotten part of it right. The rating claims that BioShock: The Collection is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and last-gen platforms.
If the package is actually in the works, we can only assume that all of the series’ main entry games will be included, along with their respective DLC add-ons. Of course, there’s even the hope that such a collection would come with enhanced versions of the originals in terms of visuals and native resolution, but it needs to actually be confirmed first.
Sadly, publisher 2K stated during the original leak that the studio “doesn’t respond to rumours or speculation,” and with not even a peep to be heard from them over this new information, it could all be a red herring.
But hey, you know what they say: there’s no smoke without fire. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed for an official announcement.
