Just a few days ago, Ubisoft released alpha-footage of the newest installation to their famous stealth series, Splinter Cell: Blacklist. The video – courtesy of Xbox 360 Achievements – shows Sam’s years of stealth experience reaching perfection.

For years, Splinter Cell has been the staple of the stealth genre, along with the Hitman and Metal Gear Solid games. Ubisoft has made Sam Fisher one of the few mascots of stealth, known best for hiding in the shadows and striking when least expected. Darkness is Fisher’s best friend, and noise is his biggest enemy.

But Fisher has always had to rely on lethal pacification to get past his enemies. Ubisoft’s video shows Sam implementing his non-lethal talents – a focus previously unseen in the series – along with his remarkable ability to slip between shadows and perform silent take-downs. Ubisoft developers add some additional information over the video as well.

As it appears right now, Splinter Cell essentially just looks like Hitman: Absolution with Agent 47 in Fisher’s disguise, but we hope that Ubisoft can pull this off and release yet another entertaining addition to the Splinter Cell series.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released in March of 2013.
