Screenshots From New Resident Evil Game Leak, Full Reveal Coming Sept 9th

Resident Evil 2, despite releasing way back in January of this year, is still a Game of the Year frontrunner. For diehard fans of the long-running survival horror franchise, Capcom's incredible attention to detail in recreating Leon and Claire's escape from Raccoon City was much appreciated and made for a phenomenal experience. As such, it's not too surprising that folks are now itching for more after surviving the spooky city and its tyrannic inhabitants.

For a while now, fans expected one of two projects to follow in RE2‘s wake. Either a sequel to 2017’s well-received Resident Evil 7 or a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. If recent events are any indication, though, it looks like the developer may surprise us all and head down an entirely different path.

That’s because we’ve now caught wind of the next Resident Evil game. Called Project Resistance, for the moment at least, the title is set to be revealed at TGS 2019 on Monday, September 9th, where those in attendance will get a chance to play it. But before then, a number of screenshots from the game have leaked online and they seemingly tease a 4 player co-op title of some sort.

See for yourself below:

Interesting, eh? While a 4 player co-op game set in the Resident Evil world is definitely something we’d be into, it’s kinda of a shame that this didn’t turn out to be that much-demanded Resident Evil 3 remake. After all, it would’ve been smart of Capcom to capitalize on reimagining the game as like we said above, the recent remake of Resident Evil 2 was a smash hit.

Still, you can’t fault the developer for wanting to try something new and with the first trailer for Project Resistance set to debut on September 9th at 11am EST, we’ll surely know more about what Capcom’s planning in no time at all. Stay tuned.
