Following Rockstar’s tease yesterday pointing to a potential Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement, the developer has released a follow-up image today over on its Twitter page that all but confirms an impending reveal of some sort.

The image, which you can see below, features the exact same art style as that used in promotional images for the original Red Dead Redemptionthis one depicting the sun setting behind the silhouette of seven individuals brandishing guns and wearing Old West-style clothing.

At this point, it’s pretty safe to assume that Rockstar is gearing-up for an announcement concerning the Red Dead series, but it might not necessarily be a sequel to Redemption. There’s every possibility that the internet could be going into a frenzy over a remaster of the aforementioned title, which is almost universally adored by everyone – but we think a new series entry is the most likely outcome.

Rockstar knows how long fans have been chomping at the bit for a new Red Dead title, so we can’t see them releasing such provocative teasers without delivering on something they know everyone has been waiting patiently for. Let’s not forget, either, that there’s been a handful of leaks (unverified, mind) over the last several months concerning various elements of the unconfirmed sequel.

We’d ask if you’re excited for Red Dead Redemption 2, but we already know the answer. Instead, why not tell us in the comments below your wants and wishes for the inevitable follow-up?
