Pirate’s Curse will again focus on the titular half-genie heroine, who this time is forced to team up with longtime pirate nemesis Risky Boots to stop a greater evil from being resurrected. The game will retain the earlier entries’ sidescrolling action-adventure gameplay and stylish pixel art style, as well as incorporating the 3D capabilities of Nintendo’s newest handheld and numerous new abilities to fit the increased emphasis on pirates, such as a pistol that Shantae can shoot and an oversized captain’s hat that doubles as a parachute.
