Hideo Kojima has taken to Twitter to unveil a series of all-new images for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Painwhich feature Snake sporting a rather bizarre chicken hat.

According to the series creator, that guise will essentially make the game easier, with the upcoming sequel offering the item to players should they continue to die within the same section. Those who willingly accept the gag will find that enemies will be slower to react and detect any of your movements — the only downside is that you’ll have to play through The Phantom Pain, a pretty serious title in its own right, wearing a rather ridiculous hat.

The fifth numerical entry in the series is still without a release date, though when last we reported on Metal Gear Solid V we noted that Kojima may have secretly revealed the game’s ETA during PlayStation Experience earlier in the month. According to Reddit, the Swedish text on Kojima’s shirt — “tjugoandra den sjätte”, to be specific — translated as “twenty-two the sixth,” thereby hinting that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain may arrive on June 22, 2015.

Of course, nothing is confirmed as of yet, but we understand that the sequel will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at some point in 2015, before deploying for PC at a later date.
