Sony’s PlayStation 5 Black Friday deals are the cheapest the console will be for a long time, get one before they sell out

There are dark clouds on the horizon for gaming in 2026. The ongoing construction of colossal AI data centers has led to a shortage of raw materials and components used in game consoles, with RAM in particular being hit hard.

Prices for PC RAM have already skyrocketed and, while console manufacturers like Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft have stockpiles, those won’t last forever (Microsoft price rises are already strongly rumored). All of which means that, if you want to pick up a PlayStation 5, this Black Friday may give you the lowest prices you’re going to see for a very long time.

Sony are is offering $100 discounts on all three models of PlayStation 5. The base model PS5 is discounted to $449 (from $549), the PS5 Digital Edition is down to $399 (from $499), and the PS5 Pro is down to $649 (from $749).

They’re all good deals, but if you’re getting the base model, you may as well go for the “Fortnite Flowering Chaos” base PS5 bundles, which are also $449 (base) / $399 (digital) but come with “8 PlayStation Exclusive cosmetics (estimated value of 5,000 V-Bucks) plus 1,000 V-Bucks”. If you don’t care about Fortnite, these items won’t matter much, but you can probably gift the codes and V-Bucks to someone who does as a small Christmas present.

Finally, there’s also the “Ghost of Yōtei – Black Limited Edition Console Bundle” for $499, which includes a limited edition PS5 Slim and a digital copy of the excellent recent release Ghost of Yōtei. That game’s RRP is $69.99, meaning if you’re interested in the game, you’re effectively getting the console for $429.99.

But what about the games?

Over on the games side, Sony is also offering discounts on most of 2025’s biggest releases. Game of the Year favorite Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is down to $39.99 from $49.99. The truly excellent Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is down to $46.69 from $69.99. Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f are both down to $48.99 from $69.99.

We can only underline that if you want a PlayStation 5, now is the time to buy one. We can almost guarantee you won’t see prices this low for a long time and, as soon as the winter 2026 post-holiday sales, the prices of console components could be even higher and wipe out any future discounting.

With Xbox faltering, the price of PC gaming rising, and Nintendo carving its own furrow, if you want premium gaming experiences, the PlayStation 5 is really the only game in town.
