Square Enix’s New RPG I Am Setsuna Set For Summer Release Across PS4 And PC

First showcased at E3 2015, the RPG formerly known as Project Setsuna now has a release date, with Square Enix primed to launch the old-school title across PlayStation 4 and PC during the summer.
Now titled I Am Setsuna, Square’s new IP hails from Tokyo RPG Factory, with Setsuna set to act as the studio’s premiere title. Taking design cues from such genre classics as Chrono Trigger, there’s no mention of the Vita version making its way west at this time, though we’ll update this post if and when more information comes to light.
Taking point for I Am Setsuna is Atsushi Hashimoto, a developer whose previous work includes Final Fantasy Explorers and 3DS title Kid Icarus: Uprising. For Tokyo RPG’s debut, though, Hashimoto-san’s RPG “aims to capture the narrative depth, impactful storytelling and masterful character development inspired by the golden era of Japanese role-playing games and bring them to current hardware and technology.”
Square’s I am Setsuna will launch across PS4 and Steam during the summer months. A Vita version is said to be in the works, though the publisher has ruled out the chances of bringing the port to a western audience.
