Next year will see the tenth anniversary of the Star Fox series’ decade-long sabbatical from the gaming scene since its last entry of Star Fox: Command on the Nintendo DS, and Nintendo doesn’t want you to forget it.
Originally slated for a holiday 2015 release during E3 2015, Star Fox Zero looks to return the series to its rail-shooter roots in a sleeker HD package under creator Shigeru Miyamoto. Like many of the games this generation, Zero easily overshot its planned release and got slapped with a delay and a TBD date – until now.
According to today’s Nintendo Direct, the game is charting a new course for April 22nd, 2016. The announcement also came with a new pre-rendered trailer that highlights Star Fox Zero‘s battles on land and in the air, courtesy of the transformable Arwing fighters.
