EA and developer Respawn Entertainment have officially lifted the lid today on the hugely anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a story-driven experience set in that famous far-away galaxy.

Following Battlefront and its lukewarm reception, that description alone – story-driven Star Wars experience set in Lucasfilm’s galaxy far, far away – is enough to leave fans rooted to the edge of their seat and giddy with anticipation. And it gets better. During this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago, Respawn pulled back the curtain on Jedi Fallen Order, revealing an epic trailer that teases the intergalactic action and high-stakes story that awaits Star Wars fans later this year. November 15th, to be exact.

Because let’s face it; when it comes to Star Wars, Disney is really firing on all cylinders at the moment. Not only do we have the live-action Mandalorian series to look forward to in 2019, but December also marks the grand finale of Lucasfilm’s Skywalker Saga. Yes, The Rise of Skywalker is almost upon us, so once Avengers: Endgame has come and gone, and the world fawns over Jon Favreau’s Lion King remake, we fully expect Star Wars mania to grip the fanbase once more.

And competing for that limelight will be Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which will likely enjoy a more detailed showcase at this year’s E3 event in June before its fall release date.

But for now, we have all the details we need; Jedi Fallen Order is shaping up to be the kind of game we hoped Battlefront II would be – a visually stunning adventure set in the Star Wars universe. It’s no secret that EA dropped the ball on that one (microtransactions, half-baked story… the list goes on), but perhaps Respawn has offered a shot at redemption? Time will tell.
