Hot on the heels of yesterday’s confirmation, Naughty Dog has provided a brief status update regarding the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta, stating that more information will be released imminently as soon as the studio nails down a concrete start date for the online testing period.
During last weekend’s PAX Prime event in Seattle, ND’s Eric Monacelli was quizzed on the timeline for the anticipated multiplayer beta, who revealed that budding fans can expect more information to come sooner rather than later. Speaking to The Games Cabin, Monacelli revealed that “we [Naughty Dog] don’t have a date quite yet, but we’re gonna be releasing some info about it really soon.”
One thing to keep in mind regarding A Thief’s End‘s beta is the fact that Monacelli didn’t specify whether the multiplayer testing will go live before the year’s end or, in the more likely scenario, at the beginning of 2016; all he confirmed was that the studio is planning to detail the contents of said beta soon. For the uninitiated, access to the beta will be unlocked for those who pick up next month’s PS4 remaster, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
Comprising all of the games released thus far – Vita’s Golden Abyss notwithstanding – the rerelease will bring the critically-adorned trilogy to PlayStation 4 replete with improved framerate and overhauled visuals. In fact, Naughty Dog has claimed that The Nathan Drake Collection is much more than “just a simple port.”
Naughty Dog is primed to bring the curtain down on Nathan Drake’s swashbuckling adventure when Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End launches exclusively for PlayStation 4 on March 18, 2016. The Nathan Drake Collection, meanwhile, will hit PS4 on October 7, 2015.
