Team Bondi, the developers behind LA Noire, updated their website this morning to reveal that their next title – Whore of the Orient – will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive, and is being planned for release on “next generation games consoles and PC”.

Along with the next-gen and publisher announcements, Team Bondi revealed a substantial amount of new information about the title’s plot and setting.

Taking place in Shanghai, China 1936, the developer describes Whore of the Orient as follows:

“Paris of the East [Shanghai]. The most corrupt and decadent city on the planet, where anything can be had or done for the right price. Plaything of Western powers who greedily exploit the Chinese masses. Boiling pot of Chinese nationalism, with Kuomintang ruthlessly trying to suppress Communism and the labour movement. Home to the International Police Force, a group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace.”

Team Bondi didn’t mention any specifics as to what kind of game Whore of the Orient is, but the setting, along with the lone image above, seems to suggest something along the same lines as their last game, LA Noire.
