Titanfall 2 Drops On October 28, Trailer Confirms Single-Player

Titanfall 2 explores the unique bond between pilot and titan, delivering a feeling of being unstoppable together in its first gameplay trailer.

Respawn Entertainment cannot catch a break. The first Titanfall leaked ahead of Microsoft’s E3 press conference three years ago, when Game Informer’s cover story went live a couple days before the event aired.

Titanfall 2 was almost destined to make a similar mistake. EA’s 2016 show begins later today, in mere hours. During yesterday’s off-limits rehearsal, however, the Titanfall 2 team debuted an exhilarating gameplay trailer … that someone accidentally published on YouTube (and ultimately removed). Oops!

The broadcast depicted the single-player campaign in action. Yes, you read that right. Titanfall 2 will have a single-player campaign, and it will be playable offline. According to stage presenter Devin Bennett, the narrative examines “the unique bond between pilot and titan, and [takes] full advantage of the movement and combat to deliver a feeling of being unstoppable together.”

The man’s not wrong. The video offered clips of the game’s titular titans roundhouse kicking, tackling, and dissecting other mechs with their giant lightning swords. A titan also snatches the protagonist, Jack Cooper, from the air as he plummets hundreds of feet to an otherwise certain death.

We’re not finished yet.

The footage reveals pilots performing acrobatic wall-runs amid environments engulfed in flame, too, as well as exploding gunships and run-ins with newer, deadlier fauna. Those spider bombs and winged lizards don’t look friendly.

For all your mechanized desires, though, expect more Titanfall 2 news as E3 rolls on, and get ready to drop when EA and Respawn Entertainment’s latest lands on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 28, 2016.

Update: In response, no doubt, to the unwanted leak, the Titanfall 2 trailer has been uploaded to the game’s official YouTube channel. We’ve embedded it for your viewing pleasure.
