Tons Of Dead Space 3 News Released

Holy information leak, Batman! Going from knowing almost nothing about the hotly anticipated Dead Space 3 to hearing a huge collection of rumors is making me quiver like a schoolgirl at a Twilight premiere, but I'll do my best to convey what has recently come to light about the (sure to be) blockbuster.

Holy information leak, Batman! Going from knowing almost nothing about the hotly anticipated Dead Space 3 to hearing a huge collection of rumors is making me quiver like a schoolgirl at a Twilight premiere, but I’ll do my best to convey what has recently come to light about the (sure to be) blockbuster.

First of all, it seems that the rumors of an icy planet being the main setting for the game have been proven true. Whether this means full, frozen landscapes a-la Lost Planet or amazing action set pieces reminiscent of Hoth remains to be seen. As exciting as this much needed scenery change is, it barely scratches the surface of what’s to come.

Taking a step forward from the co-op multiplayer featured in Dead Space 2, the main campaign will feature drop-in co-op play, allowing Isaac and his companion (whether a figment of his shattered psyche or not) to share weapons, ammo and health. A partner will be a huge help, as apparently Isaac will be facing off against even more variations of the Necromorphs, including bigger and badder bosses (that may or may not include a “skyscraper-sized” worm). Some of these enemies won’t be the traditional nightmares that players are used to, as humans will be making an appearance on the opposing side as well.

Finally, Dead Space 3 will be following in the steps of its more action oriented predecessor, allowing Isaac to act like a normal person and crouch, take cover and roll. There’s no word on how scary the newest iteration will be, although the past two games have been among the scariest I have ever played, so I’ll remain optimistic. The new focus on action could allow for more glorious set pieces, but also diminish the “survival” part of the game.

As for now, that’s all the new info we have. Take a moment to soak it in, and keep an eye open for a full announcement at this year’s E3. If you’re dying to vent your fangirl fueled excitement/disappointment, then take to the comments below and let us know how you feel!

(Also, thank you Based God)
