Square Enix has a brief holiday treat for Kingdom Hearts fans in the form of a new trailer, further showcasing the remastered titles that players can expect to see in next year’s PlayStation 3-exclusive compilation Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX. Originally announced in October, the collection will follow in the footsteps of the previous remaster, and include two full games along with a collection of cutscenes from a third.

The two playable titles will be the PlayStation 2 classic Kingdom Hearts II, as well as the portable prequel spinoff Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, making its debut on a home console after being exclusive to the PSP for several years. Both games will contain bonus material formerly only found in the Japan-only “Final Mix” special editions. Additionally, a collection of cutscenes from the DS spinoff Kingdom Hearts: Re:coded will be included for those who want to get the full story.

The long-running series chronicles the adventures of Sora, a young boy chosen to wield a mystical weapon called the Keyblade, and travel to various worlds inspired by classic Disney films to protect them from the forces of darkness. Numerous big names have lent their voice talents to the English versions of the games, including Haley Joel Osment as Sora, Jesse McCartney as Roxas, and Mark Hamill and Leonard Nimoy as characters in Birth by Sleep all of whom you can hear in the trailer below.

We will keep you updated on more news regarding the Kingdom Hearts series as it drops. Until then, let us know if you plan on picking up this collection in the comments section below.
