Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Officially Announced For A 2015 Release

Back in November, Sony teased that another Uncharted would be coming to the PlayStation 4 at some point. With zero in-game footage to go off of, though, we had little information on where the series would head next. At tonight's E3 2014 press conference, the company finally took the cover off the next entry in the franchise.

Back in November, Sony teased that another Uncharted would be coming to the PlayStation 4 at some point. With zero in-game footage to go off of, though, we had little information on where the series would head next. At tonight’s E3 2014 press conference, the company finally took the cover off the next entry in the franchise.

Developed by Naughty Dog once again, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End looks to provide a definitive conclusion to the story of Nathan Drake. While the reveal trailer only provides a brief glimpse of a CG cutscene, the graphical power of the PlayStation 4 is fully on display. To give you an idea of just how much more power the PS4 has over its predecessor, Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli claims that “Drake’s Uncharted 4 model is over double the polygons of Joel from The Last of Us on PS3.”

The video itself features Mr. Drake lying face down in the mud, as a discussion between him and partner Sully plays over the footage. From the small bit of dialogue we get to hear, it is heavily implied that this will be the last adventure that the two (and presumably gal pal Elena) will embark on.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is currently set for release in 2015. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
