It’s funny how things work sometimes, as one of last year’s best games ended up coming back to life from the brink of cancellation doom. Of course, I’m speaking of Sleeping Dogs, United Front Games’ Hong Kong-based sandbox action game, which tasked players with infiltrating a colourful Triad gang. As you may or may not know, it was once owned by Activision Publishing, and was then titled True Crime: Hong Kong. However, the company cancelled it and Square Enix ended up finding gold when it took over the reigns and changed the game’s name to what it is now.
Now, we have word from United Front Games itself, which confirms that a follow-up is in development. However, all we know is that the game is titled Triad Wars, and that it takes place in the same universe. That’s it. There’s no word on what platforms it will release for, or any of that. In fact, we apparently won’t receive any new info until next year, so hang tight folks.
As a big fan of the original game, I can’t wait to hear more about Triad Wars. Surely, I’m not alone, considering its predecessor sold approximately two million copies.
