When the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow evening Sony will add both Vanquish and Mega Man Maverick Hunter X to the Instant Game Collection, making the pair of games free to download for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

The addition of Platinum Games’ 2010 third-person shooter Vanquish to the Instant Game Collection comes just in time to celebrate the launch of the developer’s next project, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (look for our review tomorrow). For those who missed out on the game the first time around, Vanquish takes place in the future version of Earth where a Russian organisation has taken over a critical energy-producing U.S. space station. You play as researcher Sam Gideon as he fights to reclaim the space station with his handy (and deadly) cutting-edge mechanical suite.

Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is an enhanced PSP remake of the classic Mega Man X that is also compatible with the PlayStation Vita. The game includes 3D character models, remixed music, and new unlockable features not found in the original.

Additionally, PlayStation Plus members can also pick up a free Starter Pack for the Dust 514 beta. Dust 514 is CCP Games’ large-scale warfare, free-to-play, massively multiplayer shooter. The deal for the free Starter Pack is good for as long as the game is still in the beta phase, and all the content is that is purchased now will carry over when the title is actually released.

Aside from the free content, Sony is also giving PlayStation Plus members a 20% discount for both the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of the bike game, Urban Trial Freestyle.

Finally, Sony notes that if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber and have not yet downloaded Retro City Rampage or Payday: The Heist, you need to get on that quick like a bunny. Both games are leaving the Instant Game Collection today (along with last week’s Critter Crunch, Derrick the Deathfin, and Karateka discounts). If you “buy” the free games now, they will always be free to download as long as you are a Plus subscriber.
