If you’re unfamiliar with the franchise’s wider lore, Relic’s Dawn of War series takes place in Games Workshop’s 40k universe rather than the Fantasy setting that Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer takes place in. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III will be the first sequel developed by Relic to be released in seven years, so it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against previous entry Dawn of War II. If you prefer your RTS action to have a more medieval flavor, however, we suggest you stick with Creative’s series.
