Relic Entertainment and SEGA have today announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III will launch for PC on April 27, as well as unveiling various different editions for the real-time strategy sequel, the most expensive of which will set you back a hefty $130. Coming in three distinct flavors, the standard, Limited and Collector’s editions all come with a range of extras, although the first will only receive bonus content if you pre-order. The Masters of War skin pack, as it’s so called, will be available to all who get theirs in before launch, and includes an eclectic mix of different character skins.
- Dark Queen skin for Lady Solaria
- Ghost Seer skin for Farseer Taldeer
- Big Kustom skin for Beauty
For those that opt to go with Dawn of War III‘s $65 Limited Edition, you’ll receive a premium disc case, lenticular art card and an official soundtrack, although if you’re willing to drop an additional $75, you may as well secure yourself a copy of the Collector’s Edition, which includes all of the above as well as a replica Godsplitter Daemon Hammer and three mounted faction banners. Check out the entire bundle and its contents below.
If you’re unfamiliar with the franchise’s wider lore, Relic’s Dawn of War series takes place in Games Workshop’s 40k universe rather than the Fantasy setting that Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer takes place in. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III will be the first sequel developed by Relic to be released in seven years, so it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against previous entry Dawn of War II. If you prefer your RTS action to have a more medieval flavor, however, we suggest you stick with Creative’s series.
