The sixteenth mainline Final Fantasy game has had a new trailer unveiled at State of Play, with it suitably over-the-top and ridiculous action.
Confirmed as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, the game finally has a release window confirmed for Summer 2023.
Fans got their first glimpse at the game today which included a look at its main character Clive Rosfield and other new characters that will play key roles in the story. We also got a better look at how gameplay will function and it looks to provide plenty of variety for players to optimize to their style.
Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida shared a statement on the official PlayStation blog post for the game explaining how the power of the PS5 will be utilized for the game and teasing the action to come.
“With the power of the PlayStation 5 behind us, we’re looking to take you on a seamless, story-driven, white-knuckle ride that will rival even the most thrilling roller-coaster. So buckle up, the wait is almost over!”
In this post, it is also revealed that the team is still hard at work improving the game experience and overall quality. This means that despite looking stunning in the trailer, things are only set to get better for release. More information about these changes is expected to come ahead of the launch date.
While it may seem like a long wait for fans, it should be welcomed news that we now have a timeframe for Final Fantasy XVI to launch in the Summer of 2023.
