WGTC Radio #66 – The Definitive Grand Theft Auto V Analysis

This episode came out later in the week than intended – though it is entirely possible Fridays will be the new regular podcasting day starting soon...more on that later – which meant we had a lot to talk about. Sean played some games. I played some games, including Beyond: Two Souls...and, of course, we still needed to deliver that promised Grand Theft Auto V discussion we kept saying we would do. And in the midst of all that, the BBC went and found two missing Doctor Who serials from the era of the second and greatest Doctor, Patrick Troughton.

This episode came out later in the week than intended – though it is entirely possible Fridays will be the new regular podcasting day starting soon…more on that later – which meant we had a lot to talk about. Sean played some games. I played some games, including Beyond: Two Souls…and, of course, we still needed to deliver that promised Grand Theft Auto V discussion we kept saying we would do. And in the midst of all that, the BBC went and found two missing Doctor Who serials from the era of the second and greatest Doctor, Patrick Troughton.

So in short, we had our work cut out for us. This is a long podcast. Probably too long. That’s why we have the time chart below. If you only listen to one part of it, make sure you hear our ‘definitive’ Grand Theft Auto V analysis portion, which I think may be one of the single best segments we have ever recorded. We dive in very deep into issues of the game’s story, characters, violence, possibly sexism/misogyny, and more, and while Sean and I feel similar on many of these issues, there are plenty of disagreements to be had. In short, this is one of the most in-depth discussions of the year’s biggest (financially, anyway) game you will find anywhere on the web, and we hope you enjoy it.

And at the end of the podcast, we announce plans to watch and talk about some horror movies on the podcast over the next few weeks. We are starting next week with the original 1931 Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi, so make sure to watch that classic film for next time (it is readily available on Netflix)!

Enjoy!
