Those of you who perhaps missed out on the coveted white Xbox One that was released alongside Insomniac Games’ Sunset Overdrive last year may be in luck, as Microsoft has revealed that the sought after, decorative hardware will be returning by way of a new Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle.

At the time of going to press, the Redmond-based hardware giant has only announced the new-fangled package for a release in the States, and warned would-be buyers that the ice-white system “will be available in limited quantities for a limited time at participating US retailers while supplies last.” Best get to it then.

Granted, there’s no word yet on a release date for this particular Xbox One, though it is to be priced at $349 at launch and will include the console itself, a controller and a digital download code for Halo: The Master Chief Collection which, despite its troubled launch, is an excellent bit of fan service for long-time fans of Bungie’s seminal shooter.

Speaking of which, today’s announcement will no doubt act as the perfect appetizer for the much-anticipated release of Halo 5: Guardians on October 27. Don’t be too surprised if Microsoft holds the release date of this white Xbox One bundle until closer to Guardians‘ launch, as it will surely strike when Master Chief is in vogue once more.

Tell us, what do you think of the ice-white Xbox One bundle? Indeed, would you be interested in picking up the hardware bundle that includes The Master Chief Collection? Give us your early thoughts below.
