Bethesda’s long-anticipated DOOM reboot is almost upon us and to celebrate, the publisher has unleashed the hellish launch trailer for id Software’s shooter.

It features all the series’ staples, too, from a musclebound marine to the BFG, the towering Cyber Demon to a shot of our battle-worn protagonist fending off waves of enemies atop a mound of corpses. Nightmarish stuff, no doubt, but it’s fair to say longtime fans of the franchise – us included – wouldn’t have it any other way.

Set to crawl out of the depths of hell and onto consoles and PC on May 13, today’s piping hot sizzle reel comes tethered with the following caption: “DOOM is back! With a brutal single-player campaign, iconic fast-paced multiplayer, and the ability to create and play your own levels with SnapMap, DOOM delivers all the guns, demons and action you’ve been craving. It’s time to Fight Like Hell.”

As we near release date, expect new details to emerge regarding the shooter’s innovative SnapMap feature, allowing users to build and create their own arenas before sharing them with fellow DOOM soldiers across the globe.

Prepare to fight like hell when DOOM scurries onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 13.
