If you have been following the WWE, and I still am, for some reason, you may have noticed them teasing a mysterious #Hatch announcement on their social media channels. Set to launch in its traditional October release slot, the latest entry in the popular pro-wrestling franchise will hit the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Although not the cover-star, Goldberg will serve as the title’s pre-order bonus this year. Those that do choose to pre-order the game will receive two versions of the wrestler, representing his WCW and WWE years, as well as two arenas, WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc.

Having been absent from the franchise for several years, as well as pro wrestling in general, the return of Goldberg is a pretty big get for WWE 2K17 and the former WCW and WWE champion recently opened up about why he decided to return after all these years.

After 12 years away from the business, I’m incredibly honored to work with WWE and 2K while following in the footsteps of such greats as Ultimate Warrior, Sting and Arnold Schwarzenegger. My son was a big part of this coming together, and I can’t wait for him to see his dad kicking ass in a WWE ring through the magic of video games. I encountered the likes of The Rock, Triple H, Brock Lesnar and Ric Flair during my WWE career, and now through WWE 2K17, I’ll be taking on the biggest and baddest Superstars of today – showing them once and for all that I am still ‘Da Man!

Besides the announcement that WWE 2K17 will indeed release this year, 2K Games has yet to reveal additional details on the grappler. Expect additional information on the title to either be unveiled during E3 later this month though, or through WWE directly over the coming months.
