Xbox Live Gold subscribers rejoice! Microsoft has announced today that it will continue the Games With Gold promotion into the future.

At E3 2013 this past summer, the company unveiled their plan to release two free downloadable Xbox 360 titles each month from their back catalogue for Xbox Live Gold members. A new title comes out the first and fifteenth of each month and each title is only available for a two-week window.

It was originally announced that the Games With Gold program was only going to be for “a limited time,” presumably until the launch of the Xbox One. According to the official Xbox news website, the promotion has received a 97% approval rating since its inception, so it’s been decided to make it “an ongoing benefit.”

To date, Xbox Live Gold subscribers have played over 120 million hours of the free downloadable titles. So far, there have been some great options available in the Xbox Games With Gold promotion. We’ve seen Dead Rising 2, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Crackdown and Assassin’s Creed II, among others. Currently, Halo 3 is up for free download until November 1st.
