You’ll Need To Keep Your Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Disc To Play Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

For those unaware, Activision has received more than its fair share of criticism over the last couple of months for essentially locking the Modern Warfare remaster behind an unnecessary paywall by only bundling it with Infinite Warfare, presumably to incentivize fans of the older games to try out more contemporary iterations that they perhaps wouldn’t usually have.

“You  must own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in order to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered,” says the FAQ entry on the game’s official website, the fine print adding that “Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered).”

Of course, there’s every chance that both games will come on their own separate discs, but no mention of such is made in the FAQ. That being the case, you’ll need to hold onto your copy of Infinite Warfare regardless of whether you have any intention of playing it.

Obviously, if you’re a digital consumer, this news will have little impact on your buying habits, but for all those physical media lovers out there, has this changed your mind in regards to buying one of this year’s biggest shooters? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches November 4 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the latter of which grant early access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered‘s campaign later this week if you pre-ordered for Sony’s platform.
