10 Awesome Easter Eggs You May Have Missed In Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 is finally here and, as you might expect, it's bulging with easter eggs. Of course, most superhero movies feature a whole lot of easter eggs and references to the comic books they're based on and maybe other films in the same franchise, so this might not sound like anything too surprising. Deadpool 2, however, is on a completely different level.

Deadpool-2-X-Force-team

Despite all the talk of Deadpool 2 setting up a spinoff X-Force franchise, the introduction of the mutant team is actually played as a joke. As soon as they embark on their first mission, just about every member of the group is wiped out in hilariously gruesome ways.

Nonetheless, the characters that Deadpool recruits for his team are pretty faithful to the comics. Bedlam (Terry Crewes) and Zeitgeist (Bill Skasgard) both sport the same powers as their counterparts from the source material, for example. Shatterstar is the most fun, though. The movie even goes so far as to reveal that Lewis Tan’s character is an alien from Mojoworld! This makes him the first alien we’ve encountered in the X-Men films, preempting the expected arrival of the Skrulls in Dark Phoenix.

The creator of the X-Force also gets a tongue-in-cheek nod. When Deadpool can’t get a grip on what Domino’s luck powers actually are, he jokes that they sound like they were created by someone who couldn’t draw feet. Domino and the rest of the team were created by comic book writer and artist Rob Liefeld, who infamously has a, uh, unique understanding of the human anatomy.

Finally, when he’s roasted by Russell in the third act, Deadpool’s red suit becomes grey – making it a match for the darkened costume he wore during his stint as a member of the X-Force in the comics.
