10 Hilarious Movie Sex Scenes

This weekend, moviegoers will be treated (?) to the sight of Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz repeatedly getting it on during Sex Tape, as their characters attempt to recreate every single position from The Joy of Sex and spice up their marriage in the process. Expect lots of big laughs and raunchy sight gags... though one thing audiences shouldn't be hoping for is something they haven't seen before. After all, the beast with two backs is hardly an endangered species in Hollywood, and there are always plenty of steamy sex scenes heating up multiplexes. What's a little bit less common, however, are scenes that play getting down and dirty for laughs, intentionally or otherwise.

The closest thing the 1990s had to The Room, Troll 2 was far from a lollygagger on the awkward sex scene front. Where The Room‘s take on the beast with two backs was hilariously clunky, Troll 2 stepped into the realm of the flat out incomprehensible. Our seductress is a witch (I think?), her prey a be-mulleted David Lynch lookalike that her goblin minions want to eat… or something. From then on I frankly have no idea what’s going on. Why is she on the television? Why does she have corn?… So he’s eating the corn now?

…Why is there popcorn everywhere? The now infamous Popcorn Sex scene is the weird and hilariously incompetent centerpiece of a weird and hilariously incompetent film – the point where a bunch of lazy and careless people finally gave out altogether. It’s a scene that needs to be witnessed to be believed, with an evidently clueless pair of actors hurled into a scene so pointless, confusing and inconsequential that it’s either a stroke of genius or – somewhat more likely – the result of the director being on a lunch break.

Maybe it was a joke scene that they somehow conspired to leave in? Maybe its subtext actually presents us with a powerful and profound treatise on the nature of the human condition? Nope, I’m pretty sure they just left it in there because they couldn’t be bothered any more, letting a stunningly appalling film run its bizarre course to the hearts of Good-Bad Movie lovers everywhere.
