After being nominated for her breakout role in the Coen brothers’ True Grit, Hailee Steinfeld is moving on to star in a brand new role. The Oscar nomineee has just been casted in an adaptation of Cat Patrick’s sci-fi novel Forgotten. According to Deadline, Paramount has acquired the rights to Patrick’s novel, which will have Steinfeld starring in lead role. Although the book won’t be published until June, the plot of the story will focus on London Lane, a 16-year old whose memory is erased at 4:33 every night. The following morning, all she can remember are events from her future. After meeting a new boy at school, London becomes frustrated that she can’t seem to find him in her memory of things to come.
This is a polarizing role from her Oscar nominated debut in True Grit, which should be a welcomed sight as the young actress is branching out to different roles. It should be interesting to see who else will be casted in this film. Also a director has yet to be named. With her nomination behind her, Steinfeld is slowly become a marketable actress.
